I have just won a match at Oasis Lakes, North Somercotes using the new F1 mix.

When I saw this match advertised on the specimen lake as a silver fish only match I knew it would be good as I pleasure fished it a few months ago to try the F1 mix through the feeder. On the day I had 2 double figure carp but got plagued by bream and roach on an 8mm pellet! 

So on the match day I just set up the feeder and mixed a bowl of F1 ground bait. Casting about 40 yards I put 10 feeder full’s of 2mm feed pellet plugged with F1 mix, to form a bed of bait before I attached my Hook-length, hair rigged, 2 x 6mm soft hookers, and cast out. After about 20 minutes I had my first bite, a skimmer, of about 1lb.

The anglers either side of me were fishing the more traditional chopped worm and caster through the feeder. They were getting a lot smaller fish than me. I’ve found that on most of these commercials the silvers thrive on pellets so I never take maggots with me now.

Casting out regularly about every 10 minutes I was picking up skimmers, 1lb-2lb. This was steadily building my weight, by now my neighbours had switched to the pole so I knew my feed line would get better and better. I ended up weighing in 56lb of bream and this also included 1 tench of 2lb! Showing how versatile this F1 mix is, bream, tench and carp all seem to love it.
